We get requests all the time to repair various types of appliances that run the gamut from small hand mixers to giant walk-in freezers. Obviously, there is a different skill level required for each type of machine, but what do people who advertise as an "appliance repair company" even really work on?
To answer that question, you have to know there are three major divisions in appliance repair: small, residential, commercial.
Small Appliance Repair
AAA Appliance Service doesn't repair small appliances and generally, the companies who do will advertise, specifically, "Small Appliance Repair" in their names or descriptions.
Small appliances include blenders and mixers but also microwaves and mini fridges.
Major Appliance Repair (Residential)
The vast majority of appliance repair companies focus on major appliance repair. Everything from dishwashers to clothes dryers is included. Some appliance repair shops also will repair microwaves and even food waste disposal units.
One thing to remember, though, is not look at just the brands of the appliances they work on. For instance, KitchenAid, maker of nice food processors also makes other major kitchen appliances.
Commercial appliance repair
Working on commercial units is a bit different than working on residential units. The scale is an obvious factor, but even the parts may be very different from "normal" appliances.
Commercial units are typically walk-in fridges and freezers, sandwich prep tables (they are refrigerated!) and warmer plates, etc.
Sometimes people put high-end appliance repair as a separate class of repair but really it isn't. The thing that makes a SubZero refrigerator cold is the same thing in a GE.
